Introduction

Welcome to this WebQuest on media censorship.

 

Currently in the news there have been numerous photos and video footage of persons taken hostage in the War on Terror in Iraq. Newspaper editors and news program producers have had to make many decisions concerning what footage/photos to show to present the American public with an accurate and true picture of the war in Iraq. This topic has become highly controversial and many have varying opinions on what should and should not be shown in the media.

 

This WebQuest was created to help you analyze the many positions and effects of the decisions the editors and producers have to make. It was also created to help you come up with a plan of action if you were sitting in their position.

 

Before you start this WebQuest:

· This WebQuest was designed for college students taking a media ethics course.
